Travel Weekly editor in chief Arnie Weissmann has been involved in virtually every aspect of travel journalism, publishing and media for the past 30 years. His writing has won more than 35 national awards, he created the U.S. travel industry's first destination information service (Weissmann Reports), authored a best-selling geography textbook and served as publisher of b-to-b hotel and destination guides and directories in the U.S. and Europe. In the 1990s, he pioneered destination information on the web, providing the first core travel content to AOL, managing AT&T's business travel website and licensing information to dozens of websites, including those of Apple's e-World, Time, Inc., CNN, Marriott International, the L.A. Times and Discovery Channel. From 1997-2001, as Group Publisher with Northstar Travel Media, he was responsible for Star Service critical hotel guide, the Official Hotel Guide and a dozen OAG-branded publications in the U.K. He also served in the role of senior advisor for business development. He was appointed to his current position in October 2001, and since that time he and Travel Weekly's staff solidified the publication and Web site's position as the most widely read and influential business media outlet in the travel industry. He also writes the popular weekly column From the Window Seat, commenting on news and trends across the various segments of the industry. In addition to speaking at travel industry events, he sits on many advisory boards, including ones for Forbes.com, Marquis' Who's Who and Futurebrand's Country Brand Index. He's also on the steering committee of the U.N. Foundation's Global Partnership for Sustainable Travel, and is often called upon by the consumer press for commentary, with appearances on The Today Show, CNN, BBC and quotes in USA Today and dozens of other newspapers.

Deanna returned home to Hawaii and joined the Big Island Visitors Bureau two years ago. She promoted Hawaii for many years as a U.S. based regional sales manager with Aston Hotels Hawaii / ResortQuest Hawaii and also had the opportunity to head the Hawaii Groups Department of Apple Vacations. Her return home to Hawaii and the Big Island has brought new diverse experiences, cultural knowledge, and insights that Deanna would like to share with partners who love to sell Hawaii.

Maile Horner-Director of Marketing, Kaua'i Visitors Bureau

Maile Horner, Director of Marketing, Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau (KVB)
Maile has been with the KVB since June 2005. Her position manages the North American market's wholesaler partnerships, travel trade events and travel agent programs including the Kauai Destination Specialist program. The Kaua‘i Destination Specialist program has certified over 200 travel professionals which Maile has successfully managed for the past four years.

Robyn Basso-CTC, Regional Director

Robyn Basso, CTC, Regional Director of Travel Trade Marketing for the Eastern Region for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.
Robyn is responsible for the marketing and promotion of the Hawaiian Islands to travel trade professionals throughout the Eastern US and Eastern Canada with a focus on providing destination education. She joined HVCB in 2008 with over 15 years of experience in the travel industry and 13 years concentrated on selling Hawaii. She was most recently the Senior Director of Sales & Distribution for Castle Resorts & Hotels. Robyn is a Certified Travel Counselor and a member of the Midwest and Northeast Ohana organizations. She resides in Chicago.

The Oahu Visitors Bureau utilizes Stacey Alford’s twenty years of travel industry experience as their Director of Travel Industry Sales for North America. Stacey has been with the Oahu Visitors Bureau team for thirteen years and is a resident of Oahu. She specializes in building strategic wholesaler and travel agent relationships in North America.

Tom Risko, Director of Group and International Sales for MVB

Tom Risko is Director of Group and International Sales for the Maui Visitors Bureau. A 25-year hospitality veteran, Risko has been with the bureau for nearly 15 years in total with a 5-year stint as public relations director for the Fairmont Kea Lani Maui sandwiched in between. An Ohio native, Tom began his Hawaii hospitality career in 1981 with Sheraton Hotels Hawaii attending their management training program.
