Amy Fietkau

Amy Fietkau is an AEC Technical Specialist focused on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Architecture. In her six year tenure at Autodesk, she has helped numerous architectural firms develop and deploy best practices for implementing BIM software. She’s often referred to as “Ask Amy” because of her Buildings resource center where she answers daily questions sent by customers from all over the world. Prior to joining Autodesk she taught college architecture courses, worked in CAD Management for a large architectural firm and provided support and implementation services for an Autodesk Reseller. With over 10 years experience working with Architects and Engineers, Amy has developed a unique, easy-to-understand presentation style that helps buildings professionals further their industry and design software knowledge.


Brian Johnson
Brian is a licensed structural engineer with over 10 years of building design and consulting experience. In his 2+ years at Autodesk, he has used his background and experience to help customers determine the best Structural Engineering Solutions for their needs. Brian is well-versed in all structural materials – structural steel, concrete, wood, and masonry – and has designed a variety of structures including residential, commercial and office buildings, parking garages, and mixed-use facilities. Prior to Autodesk, he worked for Architectural Engineers Collaborative for six years and then was Principal at MJ Structures for over four years. Outside of Autodesk, he enjoys tinkering with the Revit API, playing drums, and reading.
Dana Probert
Dana Probert is a member of the Autodesk Civil Engineering Market Readiness team. Dana worked for private consulting firms in the US and Canada for nine years on a cross section of land development and environmental engineering projects including neighborhood infrastructure design, land planning, utility design, stormwater management and stream restoration. While working for an Autodesk reseller, Dana worked closely with many firms on their Civil 3D implementation plans, including pilot projects. Dana has been an instructor at Autodesk University, worked on Autodesk Official Training Courseware, and is coauthor of the books “Mastering AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008”, “Mastering Civil 3D 2009” and “Introducing Civil 3D 2009”. Dana has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech.
Eddie Perlberg
Eddie is a Design Visualization Technical Specialist for Autodesk’s Architecture, Engineering & Construction division. Prior to Autodesk, Eddie spent 18 years in the architecture industry, where he successfully implemented products such as Autodesk Revit®, Autodesk 3ds Max® and 3ds Max Design for a number of organizations in the Milwaukee area. Most recently before joining Autodesk, Eddie worked at various firms including R.A. Smith as a Project Manager for the visualization department and as CAD Manager for Kohl’s Department Stores and Kahler Slater Architects. Eddie is a contributing instructor at Autodesk University for many visualization classes and is a recognized speaker for numerous seminars and events, including the Autodesk Design Visualization webcast series. Eddie is also a contributing animator for the Bradley Center, home of the Milwaukee Bucks, Admirals, and Marquette Golden Eagles.
Heidi Hewett
Heidi Hewett began using AutoCAD in 1986 and has been employed by Autodesk since 1992. At Autodesk, Heidi has held a variety of AutoCAD related positions including product support technician, training specialist, and senior applications engineer. In her current position as a technical marketing manager, Heidi assists the AutoCAD development teams in developing and delivering technical marketing material for AutoCAD.
Ian Matthew
Ian is responsible for the production of technical sales collateral and sales tools to support the Autodesk Plant Solutions sales process. This includes development of product presentations for the Autodesk reseller channel and internal sales personnel. He also provides product and market expertise for conferences, tradeshows, webinars and seminars. Ian has over 35 years experience working in the field of Computer-Aided Design of process plant. He originally worked developing process simulation software at CAD Centre, Cambridge, England (now AVEVA) before moving into managing the development of one of the first database oriented P&ID software systems. At Intergraph Corporation, Ian performed the product management role for the introduction and development of PDS. Ian holds B.Sc.Tech in Chemical Engineering and Fuel Technology and M.Sc.Tech in Chemical Engineering and Fuel Technology degrees from Sheffield University, England.
James Wedding
James Wedding spent nearly a decade in the Dallas land development industry before moving into the AutoCAD consulting world. One of the earliest gunslingers for AutoCAD Civil 3D, James worked as a customer, consultant and reseller before joining the Autodesk team in 2010. James co-Authored the Mastering AutoCAD Civil 3D series of books and now answers your questions on the Autodesk Civil Engineering Resource Center’s Ask James page. A top rated AU speaker six years running, James bring his passion for advanced design technology to every presentation.
Jason Dodds
Jason Dodds is an Autodesk construction solutions engineer, located in the Denver, Colorado, area. Jason has been actively involved in the design and building technology community for over 15 years. During his career, Jason's focus and experience has been with construction, architecture, interiors, structures, MEP, construction administration, and technology for companies such as Michael Baker Corporation and Southland Industries. He has been involved in all facets of design and building processes and understands what it takes to complete projects from design, estimating, coordination, and fabrication to building lifecycle management. In his role at Autodesk, Jason plays an integral role in advocating and implementing the company’s Construction and BIM solutions throughout North America.
Jay Ayala
Jay Ayala is an AEC Solutions Engineer with over 12 years of experience in the AEC Industry, and he has been a loyal Autodesk product user since 1993. In his 4 years at Autodesk, Jay has used his technical expertise to help numerous Autodesk customers determine the most suitable technical solution possible for their business. His primary job responsibilities are focused on Autodesk MEP solutions, however he has experience and technical proficiency with all the AEC software solutions. Prior to Autodesk, Jay worked in MEP system designs with a secondary role as a CAD Manager. He has experience as a HVAC systems designer and hydronic piping designer, as well as experience designing and drafting in other disciplines including plumbing and electrical. One of his favorite software applications is AutoCAD MEP, which he has been using on a daily basis since October of 2004.
Jerry Bartels
Jerry is a Civil Engineering Technical Specialist with Autodesk. For more than 20 years, Jerry has worked in all areas of civil engineering and mapping, providing clients with services in CAD management, implementation, and network administration. He also has more than 10 years of experience teaching Autodesk® products as well as developing curriculum. At Autodesk, Jerry specializes in civil engineering, surveying, and mapping solutions, and currently provides pre-sales, training, and support services throughout the US. He has received several awards from Autodesk for his presentations.
John Boehms
John is a Technical Specialist with the Autodesk AEC Solutions team, concentrating on Autodesk building information modeling (BIM) solutions for sustainability. John joined Autodesk in May 2007 after completing eleven plus years with Perkins+Will as a Project Manager, Project Architect and BIM implementation specialist. In his role, he was accountable for managing BIM projects, chair to two firm-wide initiatives, and was an IDP mentor for young architects. As a member of AIA, NCARB, and USGBC, he has worked actively with his local community to establish a sustainable neighborhood approach to development, integration, and support to help facilitate best practices for small and large scale idealisms. In his current role at Autodesk, John’s primary focus is to support the AEC sustainable design and analysis products and architectural solutions. His industry experience in sustainable design and BIM technology has become a connection between solutions based technology and a passion for the environment.
Kate Morrical
As the Technical Marketing Manager for AutoCAD LT, Kate works closely with the AutoCAD LT Product Development & Marketing teams and with AutoCAD LT users through discussion groups, her blog, and events such as Autodesk University and AUGI CAD Camps. She has over 10 years of experience with Autodesk products, starting with AutoCAD R14, and has been blogging about AutoCAD LT since April 2007. Kate is a licensed professional engineer in Maryland, and was employed as an engineer and CAD Manager for a 30-person office of a structural engineering firm before joining Autodesk.
Kevin Miller
Kevin, based in Northeast Ohio, is a Utility Subject Matter Expert for Autodesk. Kevin has 23 years experience in the Utility industry with 15 years of designing, implementing and maintaining utility solutions including GIS, Design, Work Management, Outage Management, Asset Management, etc. He has been with Autodesk a year and was with FirstEnergy Corp 22 years prior to that. Kevin now works with both publicly traded and governmental infrastructure management organizations to understand business processes and drivers and then help them find Autodesk based solutions. Kevin’s key skill is the ability to connect with external clients, listen, understand, and interpret as they strive to meet business goals using Autodesk solutions.
Michael Schlosser
Michael Schlosser is an Autodesk Technical Specialist. With more than 20 years experience, he is an expert in CAD/GIS integration, Engineering GIS and the design, development, and implementation of GIS systems. He has worked with a wide variety of clients on their engineering and geospatial implementations in desktop, server and web-based environments, including telecommunications firms, utilities, transportation, and government departments. He is skilled in project management, creating GIS-based simulations and demonstrations, and developing innovative solutions to business problems.
Shaan Hurley
Shaan has worked for Autodesk since 1998 and is currently a Platform Technology Evangelist for the AutoCAD & Platform Products Division, which includes AutoCAD. As an avid Autodesk software user since 1989 he is a current user of many Autodesk products. Previously he was a mechanical designer involved in various large projects such as AISC major steel bridges, hydroelectric, structural steel, process piping, large heat exchangers and ASME pressure vessels -- even the mechanical design of a self contained and self powered commercial submarine. Shaan was featured as a "bleeding edge" customer during the AutoCAD R14 Design Your World Live broadcast in May 1997 and was also included on the AutoCAD R14 demo CD-ROM. In his current role he meets with Autodesk customers around the world and takes their suggestions back to the product development teams to continue improving the Autodesk products
